The Lumbee Indians, The Lost Colony of Roanoke and The Goins Family Tree. This Blog will explore the relationships between them. Please note that the blog serves as a collection of all Goins/Going/Gowen early records and that there is no intention to suggest that all Goins are Lumbee related. Only by listing them all, tracking their migration routes and taking your comments on the families into consideration, can we study and determine what lines are related to others. Enjoy!
To whom it may concern,
ReplyDeleteHello My name is David M. Stringer Jr.,
I am writing in search of help. I hope to attain help from any willing associated departments or affiliates.
I am writing about my great, great, great, great grandmother Lucy Goings (Born1782-4 in NC.), bought land in the thirties in Pulaski County Arkansas. She May have married a Gaskins as her children were surnamed that.
Lucy Goings is listed on Arkansas census with Mary Goings (Born 1786 N.C) The Goings of N.C. are supposed to be Cherokees. one son Reuben A. Gaskins was born in Kentucky in 1814; the oldest son Aaron A was born in Georgia about 1809, And A William Goings Born in Illinois.
Lucy Goings son (my ³rd great grandfather) R.A. Gaskins Married Martha Jane Hansom Rogers Born 1828 in Arkansas or Georgia. Lucy, Aaron, and Reuben all moved to Kansas by1860 and died there.
I was wondering if anyone has info on these early pioneers.
Any information or advice helps and is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, David M. Stringer Jr.
